A Good Man and more

Hello and welcome to my haven in a hectic world!
Thank you for joining me today!

My friend Donna came over yesterday and firstly we went for a beautiful ploughman's lunch at a local cafe, which is situated in what used to be our local library. I must admit, we could eat out every day of the week in a different establishment without going to the same place twice. What's even better is we'd never walk further than 5 minutes away from home. When we got back she wanted to make a card for her son and after looking on Pinterest she decided on this one. Once the card was finished she was very happy with what she'd created.
It was then a cup of camomile tea and my darling hubby took her home.

Materials required for this card are:

Card stock: *blueberry bushel, whisper white
Ink: gray granite, memento black, night of navy, seaside spray
Stampin' blends: balmy blue, ivory, petal pink, *pineapple punch, poppy parade, night of navy
Stamp sets: a good man, *perennial birthday, *varied vases, well said
Accessories: Stamparatus
* = retired

Hope you liked today's card. If you would like more information on how to make it, please don't hesitate to contact me, I'd love to hear from you.

If you wish to buy any of the items used, go to contacting me at the top of the page for details on how to order.

Beautiful Bouquet meets Well Said

Hi and welcome to my blog

Happy Birthday Donna!

This card is CASed from the new 2019 catalogue, I just liked the sentiment and thought it would be a change from happy birthday all the time. Will make sure I say happy birthday inside the card.

To recreate this card follow the guide below:
cs = Card Stock, when using layering dies number 1 is always the smallest

All measurements are in centimetres

Card Stock: Whisper white 3 pieces, 21 x 14.5 (card base), 7.5 x 6. 5 (oval), 3.5 x 11 (flowers & leaves)
Coastal Cabana 2 pieces, 14 x 10  (first layer), 8 x 5.5 (oval)
Bermuda Bay 2 pieces, 13.5 x 9.5 (second layer), 3 x 6.5 (friend)
Stamp Sets: Beautiful Bouquet, Well Said
Dies: Layering Ovals, Well Written
Stampin Pads: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Gorgeous Grape and Pear Pizzazz

Starting with the larger piece of whisper white (cs) score and fold at 10.5 this is the card base.

Take the largest piece of coastal cabana (cs) and adhere straight onto the base card using liquid glue, as the first layer.

With the larger piece of bermuda bay (cs)stamp the tree and foliage images from the beautiful bouquet (ss) in bermuda bay ink towards the left side, and then dry emboss using the Subtle folder, again adhere straight onto the card using liquid glue.

Stamp the flowers and leaves using the smallest  piece of Whisper White (cs) and the beautiful bouquet (ss), in the following colors daffodil delight, grapefruit grove, gorgeous grape and pear pizzazz.

Now die cut these using the bouquet bunch dies, you can also, using the smaller bermuda bay piece die cut the friend from the well written dies at the same time.

With the medium piece of whisper white (cs) and the well said (ss) stamp the sentiment leaving a gap for the word friend in bermuda bay.

Now using the layering ovals dies, die cut the sentiment with the (5) oval and the smaller piece of costal cabana with the (5) scallop oval.

Layer the two ovals together using liquid glue or tear and tape and then adhere both to the card base.

Add the friend sentiment using liquid glue.

Give the flowers some dimension using either a ball tool or bone folder and arrange at the edge of the oval using a mixture of liquid glue and dimensional pads.

Add basic pearls to the two smaller flower.

Hope you liked todays card!!

Beauty Abounds meets Butterfly Gala and more

Hello and welcome, hope you're having a good day!

Happy Birthday Karine

It's actually only August 17th while i'm writing this, and the sun is shining beautifully, I like to get my cards done early along with the blog post.  For 2 reason's, 1. when I've finished the card if I do the blog straight away I can remember the order in which it was all done and 2. once I get my goodies from the new Autumn Winter catalogue I have quite a few Christmas cards to make ready to be sent out at the beginning of December.

Today's card was made for my aunt.
I really loved the Beauty Abounds set when I first saw it in the catalogue, but I've only just started using it.

To create this card follow the guide below:
(cs) = Card Stock, ⓡ Retired, (ss) = Stamp Set,

All measurements are in centimetres.

Blends: Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green
Card Stock: Granny Apple Green 3.5 x 14.5 (scalloped edge)
Very Vanilla Thick 14.5 x 21 scored in half at 10.5 (card base)
Very Vanilla 2 pieces 14.5 x 7.3 (front panel), 2 x 29.7 (butterflies & sentiments)
Dies: Stitched be mine, Stitched Labels
Embossing Folders: Subtle
Ink: Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green, Memento Tuxedo Black
Punches: Butterfly Duet
Ribbon: Braided Linen Trim, ⓡ Organdy combo
Stamp Sets: Beauty Abounds, Butterfly Gala,  Varied Vases, Well Said
Accessories:  ⓡ Gingham Gala Sequins

Starting with the front panel, stamp two scrolls from the beauty abounds (ss) in opposite directions using Memento ink (I used my stamparatus for this).

Once stamped colour using the blends, add shading by using both light and dark blends, then emboss using the subtle folder and adhere to the card base on the righthand side using liquid glue.

With the strip of very vanilla (cs) stamp the 3 butterflies using the butterfly gala (ss), the happy from the well said (ss)  and the birthday wishes from the varied vases (ss).

Using the butterfly duet punch, punch out the 3 butterflies.

For the birthday wishes, I just cut down the (cs) to fit the sentiment.

Using the small tag from the stitched labels dies, die cut the happy and at the same time with the granny apple green (cs) die cut the scalloped edge using the stitched be mine dies.

It's now time to put it all together.

Add the ribbon down the middle of the scalloped edge piece and attach to the card base using dimensional pads. Use liquid glue to add the butterflies and dimensional pads to add the greetings. Lastly add the sequin using liquid glue next to the happy. You may want to use a glue dot to attach the butterfly on the ribbon instead of liquid glue.

Will be back again soon with more cards

Well Said and lots more

Hello folks, hope you're having a good day

Happy Anniversary Margaret & Simon

Fancied using some of my old stash along with some of the newer stuff, not used for a while.
So got out a bit of this and that, and threw in a bit of the other, and this is what I came up with.

A couple of these items retired without me ever using them, so thought I better remedy that before hubby finds out!!

To recreate this card follow the guide below:
® = retired, (sab) = Sale-A-Bration, (H) = Hostess, (nsu) = not stampin’ up, (ss) = Stamp set, (DSP) = designer series paper, (CS) = Card Stock, When using Layering frames (1) is always the smallest.

All measurements are in inch's

Card Stock: Whisper White: 3 pieces 10" x 5" scored at 5" (card base), 2¾" x 2¾" (3rd layer), 2" x ½" (sentiment)
Blueberry Bushel: 3" x 3" (1st layer) , 2½" x 1¼" (happy)
Purple Posy: 2¼" x 2" (heart)
DSP: 2019-2021 In Colors Purple Posy 2¾" x 2¾" (2nd layer)
Embossing Folders: ® Country Floral® Pretty Print, Subtle
Dies: Layering Squares, Stitched Be Mine, Well Written
Stamp Sets: Well Said
Stampin' Pads: Blueberry Bushel
Accessories: Organza Ribbon®

Emboss the front of the base card with the country floral folder leaving a ¾" gap on the left side.

Add the organza ribbon along the left edge and add a bow (adhere using glue dots).

Die cut all three of the square's using the layering squares (7) , the heart from stitched be mine and the happy from well written.

Emboss the Whisper White square with the pretty print folder and the heart with the subtle folder.

Adhere the blueberry bushel square to the card base using dimensional pads.

Adhere the DSP square to the whisper white square using liquid glue and slightly off set.

Then adhere to the blueberry bushel square using dimensional pads, again slightly off set.

Adhere the happy to the heart using liquid glue, then adhere to the whisper white square using dimensional pads.

Stamp the sentiment Anniversary from the well said (ss) on the small piece of whisper white (cs) in blueberry bushel and then trim down to size and adhere to the card using dimensional pads.
