Nature's Prints meets Timeworn Type

  Welcome to my blog

and  thank you for joining me today!

A very quick thank you card

I needed a thank you card in a flash and this is what I came up with. I thought I had a week to make it. I had a new wedding ring about 8 weeks ago and last week I noticed one of the diamonds had fallen out so went back to get it repaired. They said it would be about a week so no no rush on the card, then the next day they phoned to say it was ready, as the lady serving me had put a rush on it. Hence the rush, It's taken me until now to get it on my blog as for the last week I've had no internet. Just hope nothing else goes wrong.

  1. die cut the 2 scalloped rectangles
  2. Ink up the flower using stampin' markers and die cut
  3. emboss the white scalloped rectangle
  4. adhere the 2 scalloped rectangles to the note card
  5. Attach the flower using dimensionals
  6. Add the bow

Materials required for this card are:

Card Stock: basic white, basic white note card
Designer Series Paper: 21-23 in color
Dies: natural prints, scalloped contours (3,4)
Embossing Folders: timeworn type 3D
Ink: fresh freesia
Stampin' Markers: evening evergreen, fresh freesia
Stamp Sets: nature's prints
Accessories: *21-23 in color jewels, open weave ribbon

* = no longer available, when using layering dies (1) is the smallest

Hope you liked today's card. If you would like more information on how to make it, please don't hesitate to contact me, I'd love to hear from you.

Catching Butterflies

  Welcome to my blog

and  thank you for joining me today!

Happy Birthday Evie

This is a free Sale-A-Bration set that's no longer available. I got this set a while ago and thought it would be great for my lovely grand daughter. Yes you guessed she's 11 today, hence the 11 butterflies. It's quick and easy to make except for the fussy cutting (I hate doing this) but  this card needed it.

Materials required for this card are:

Card Stock: basic white normal & thick
Ink: balmy blue, memento black, old olive, orchid oasis
Stampin' Markers: old olive
Stampin' Up Blends: daffodil delight, ivory, orchid oasis
Stamp Sets: *catching butterflies, peaceful moments
Accessories: iridescent rhinestones

 * = no longer available
  1. Use a basic sized base card with either a 3mm or ¼  inch smaller mat
  2. With blending brushes, colour the mat using 2 colours
  3. Stamp the image in black on a scrap piece of white, then colour using stampin' blends, and fussy cut
  4. Stamp the butterflies on the mat in black, the grass in green and the sentiment in purple.
  5. Add the rhinestones and attach to the base card.
Hope you liked today's card. If you would like more information on how to make it, please don't hesitate to contact me, I'd love to hear from you.

Linen Speciality Paper meets Nature's Prints and more

  Welcome to my blog

and  thank you for joining me today!

Happy 4th Anniversary to Alison & Rob

As the 4th anniversary is linen i incorporated it into the background, and used only 3 colours for this card. Also there is both dry and heat embossing used.

Materials required for this card are:

Card Stock: gray granite, very vanilla
Designer Series Paper: linen
Dies: deckled rectangles (6), natural prints
Embossing powder: clear
Embossing Folders: bricks & mortar 3D, fern 3D
Ink: blushing bride, versamark
Punches: lovely labels
Stamp Sets: * express yourself, *love & happiness, nature's prints
Accessories: *bakers twine, *polished dots
  • Emboss the first layer using the bricks & mortar folder, then adhere to base card.
  • Emboss the linen using the fern folder, remove backing and adhere to card.
  • Stamp and die cut the flower elements and attach to card using dimensionals.
  • Make two banners using the punch, one narrow and one not so narrow.
  • Use the banners for the sentiments, double load the stamp with versamark and blushing bride before stamping and adding the embossing powder.
  • Add a polished dot to the centre of the flower, then a bow to the stems.
  • It sounds a lot, but once stamped and die cut it's easy to put together
* = no longer available, when using layering dies (1) is the smallest.

Hope you liked today's card. If you would like more information on how to make it, please don't hesitate to contact me, I'd love to hear from you.
