Last A Lifetime meets Lasting Elegance

Hello and welcome to my haven in a hectic world, hope you're have a good day!

It's now week 12 for the lockdown and we actually went to the bank the other day, Yippee!!!
Still don't go out unless we have to so it made a change.

This is Sue's card for this week.

I created it using a u tube video from Lisa Curio's channel made some time ago. I changed the front and was very pleased with the outcome.
As this has come from an American demonstrator the measurements are in imperial inches.
(but I will soon be bring you a metric version, so keep your eye out for it!)

(cb) = card base, (cs) = card stock, (dsp) = designer series paper, (ef) embossing folder,  (r) = retired, (ss) = stamp set.
Colours used are: purple posy, soft sea foam, so saffron.

  • Start with a (cb) of thick whisper white (cs) 8½ x 5½  scored at 4¼.
  • Emboss the front of the (cb) using the subtle (ef)
  • Cut 2 pieces of in color 19/21 (dsp) 4 x 4 and 3 x 4 making sure  the pattern goes in the same direction.
  • Using the 4 x 4 piece of (dsp) make a mark on the left side at 1½  then the bottom at 1¾ and finally the right side at 2¼.
  • Cut off from the left side mark down to the bottom mark, now cut from the right mark down to make a point at the bottom.
  • Place the right side of the 4 x 4 piece level with the top of the 3 x 4 piece, line up so each side is level, then draw a line around the edge of the 4 x 4 piece onto the 3 x 4 piece, now cut along the line to get the corresponding shape for the bottom.
  • Place these pieces onto the (cb) and stamp the sentiments from the ornate thanks (ss) in the gap.
  • Using foam adhesive strips adhere the top and bottom pieces of (dsp) to the (cb).
  • Stamp the flowers from the last a life time (ss) onto whisper white (cs) using memento ink and colour using stampin' blends.
  • Die cut the flowers using the lasting elegance dies.
  • For the top sentiment I used the (r) new wonders (ss) and stamped in purple posy, then die cut using the ornate frames dies.
  • Adhere this sentiment using liquid glue to the (cb).
  • Attach the flowers using dimensional tabs.
  • Add some basic rhinestones in between the gap sentiments and jobs done!!!!
Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the rest of your day

Lovely Lily Pad meets New Wonders

Hi, welcome to my haven in a hectic world, thanks for joining me today.

Happy Birthday Peg!

I'm always nervous doing Peg's card as she's my Stampin' Up upline and of course I want to impress. Hope she likes it.
All measurements are in centimetres.

(cs) = card stock, (ef) = embossing folder, (ss) = stamp set,

Petal Pink 21 x 14.5 scored at 10.5 (card base), 15 x 5 (wavy lines), 7.5 x 8 (swirls), Whisper White 14 x 10 (1st layer), 6 x6 (flower), 5 x 5 (circle).
  • Using the swirly scribbles dies and the petal pink (cs) die cut the waves and swirls.
  • With the 6 x 6 whisper white (cs) stamp the outline flower from the lovely lily pads (ss) using memento black ink, then flip the stamp on the block so the flat side up and stamp again using petal pink ink. As you can see it doesn't fit the outline stamp perfectly, but that's how its supposed to be.
  • With the smallest piece of whisper white (cs) stamp the happy birthday from the new wonders (ss) in petal pink ink.
  • Now die cut the flower using the lily pad dies, and the happy birthday using the stitched labels dies.
  • Lightly sponge down the left hand side of the 1st layer whisper white (cs) using petal pink ink. If I was doing this card again I'd take the sponging right to the edge.
  • Emboss this layer using the stone 3D (ef).
  • Adhere the waves to the 1st layer using liquid glue.
  • Wrap a piece of the petal pink metallic edged ribbon across the 1st layer at the bottom adhering to the back using glue dots, then tie a faux bow at the front.
  • Attach this layer to card base using dimensional pads.
  • Place the swirls where you want it to be and adhere down, again using liquid glue.
  • Attach the happy birthday sentiment using dimensional pads along with the lily.
  • Add some champagne rhinestones.
Will be back again soon with more cards, enjoy the rest of your day!

New Wonders meets A Little Lace

Hi folks, hope you're having a good day

Hoorah!! it's the 4th September which means the new Autumn Winter Catalogue is going live today, check it out by clicking on the image on the right. It will take you straight to the catalogue in full. If you wish to order anything and you are happy to have me as your demonstrator just email me (details on my contact page) and I will be happy to help you.

I really enjoyed making this card, loved the stamps and the colours.  They are my granddaughters favourite colours so I know she'll just love it.
These are sets I think will always stay in my craftroom, I think they're just gorgeous.

To recreate this card follow the guide below:
(cs) = Card Stock, dsp = Designer Series Paper, ® = Retired, (ss) = Stamp Set

All measurements are in Centimetres

Card Stock: Highland Heather 2 pieces 14.8 x 21, 4 x 4
Seaside spray 10 x 14.2
Vellum 10 x 4.5
Whisper White 2 pieces 13.8 x 9.5, 3.5 x 3.5
Embossing Folders: Subtle
Embossing Powder: White
Punches: Medium Daisy, 1⅛ Scallop circle, 1⅜ Scallop circle
Ribbon: ® Organdy Combo
Stamp Sets: A Little Lace, Daisy Lane, New Wonders
Stampin' Blends: Highland Heather, Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray, Soft Suede, So Saffron
Stampin' Pads: Highland Heather, Seaside Spray
Accessories: Faceted Gems, ® Gingham Gala Sequins, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, VersaMark, Wink of Stella

Start with the larger piece of Highland Heather (cs) measuring 14.8 x 21, score and fold at 10.5, this is now your card base.

Next using the larger piece of  whisper white (cs), (on reflection I think Shimmery White (cs) would have been better) stamp the fairy from the new wonders (ss) towards the top right hand side in memento ink, now stamp the first greeting in highland heather so it's sitting just below the nib of the penStamp the swirly daisy from the a little lace (ss) at the bottom in seaside spray.

Using the stampin' blends colour in the fairy using both the light and dark blends to emphasis the shadow. For the wings use the wink of stella so they will shimmer nicely.

Now layer this piece with the piece of  seaside spray (cs) using liquid glue, and emboss using the subtle folder.

Next using the piece of vellum and the daisy lane (ss) stamp the smaller daisy twice in VersaMark and then heat emboss using white embossing powder.

Punch out both these daisies using the Medium Daisy punch. Then curl the petals of the first one up and the petals on the second one down before adhering them together using liquid glue.

Stamp the second sentiment using the smaller piece of whisper white (cs) in highland heather and punch out using the 1⅛ Scallop circle punch.

Now punch out the second circle using the 1⅜" scallop circle punch and the smaller piece of highland heather (cs). Layer these 2 circles using dimensional pads.

Wrap some ® organdy ribbon around the bottom of the 2nd and 3rd layers, securing at the back with glue dots.  Add dimensional pads to the back and adhere to the card base.

Use liquid glue to secure the daisy in place, and dimensional pads for the scalloped circles. Add one of  the gingham gala sequins to the bottom sentiment and a faceted gem in the middle of the daisy and that's it folks job done!!

Will be back again soon with more cards.
