Friends Are Like Seashells meets Wonderful World

Happy Birthday Margaret


Thought I'd use some of my new goodies for this card, and loved the result!

  1. Start with a normal base card (half an A4)
  2. The contrasting layer is die cut and embossed
  3. Flowers are inked up using Stampin' markers, then die cut using a frame
  4. wind bakers twine round the frame, then tie with a bow
  5. Stamp the sentiment using a ¾''  strip of cardstock, then use the punch on each side.
  6. Adhere elements to the card base and add some rhinestones.

Card Stock: basic white, highland heather
Dies: painted labels, split card
Embossing Folders: timeworn type 3D
Ink: highland heather
Punches: lovely labels
Stampin' Markers: highland heather, pear pazzazz
Stamp Sets: friends are like seashells, wonderful world

Honeybee Home meets Go To Greetings

 Welcome to my blog

and  thank you for joining me today!

Happy Birthday Heather


Mixing colours up a  bit today and thought these went quite nicely together.

Materials required for this card are:

Card Stock: basic white, fresh freesia
Dies: honeybee blooms, layering circles (5)
Ink: basic tray, evening evergreen, tahitian tide
Punches:  lovely labels
Stampin' Up Blends: fresh freesia, mango melody, soft succulent
Stamp Sets: go to greetings, honeybee home
Accessories: open weave ribbon, *shimmer spritz, stampin' brushes

  1. base card 14.5 x 21 scored at 10.5, matt 10.1 x 14.1
  2. stamp the flowers, bumble bee and sentiment on some spare basic white
  3. colour the flowers and bee using the blends
  4. die cut the flowers, bee and a circle 
  5. place the circle on the matt and do some blending around it in the blue
  6. add the ribbon
  7. adhere the matt to the base using wet glue
  8. adhere the bottom flowers with wet glue and the top flowers and bee using dimensionals
  9. flag the ends of the sentiment and attach with dimensionals
  10. add some shimmer

Happiness Abounds meets Stylish Sketches

This is a mixture of old and new. Stamping, watercoloring, dry embossing, die cutting and punching.

Materials required for this card are:

Card Stock: balmy blue, basic white thick
Designer Series Paper: *simply marbleous 
Dies: stylish shapes (6)
Embossing Folders: *seaside
Ink: balmy blue, memento black
Punches: decorative circle, lovely labels
Watercolor Pencils: basic black, daffodil delight, early espresso, garden green, pacific point, pumpkin pie
Stamp Sets: happiness abounds, *stylish sketches
Accessories: blender pen, *organdy combo ribbon

  1. base card 14.8 x 10.5, dsp 10 x 14.3
  2. stamp and colour the ducks, punch out using the decorative circle 
  3. colour round the edge of the circle using a balmy blue stampin' marker
  4. stamp the sentiment on a ½" strip and flag the ends, then make a ¾" background strip and adhere together
  5. die cut a circle in the dsp, then die cut a balmy blue circle the same size
  6. emboss the dsp and add a strip of ribbon about 2.5cm from the bottom then attach to the base card using dimensionals
  7. adhere the blue circle using wet glue, then the ducks & sentiment using dimensionals

Linen Speciality Paper meets Nature's Prints and more

Happy 4th Anniversary to Alison & Rob


As the 4th anniversary is linen i incorporated it into the background, and used only 3 colours for this card. Also there is both dry and heat embossing used.

Materials required for this card are:

Card Stock: gray granite, very vanilla
Designer Series Paper: linen
Dies: deckled rectangles (6), natural prints
Embossing powder: clear
Embossing Folders: bricks & mortar 3D, fern 3D
Ink: blushing bride, versamark
Punches: lovely labels
Stamp Sets: * express yourself, *love & happiness, nature's prints
Accessories: *bakers twine, *polished dots
  • Emboss the first layer using the bricks & mortar folder, then adhere to base card.
  • Emboss the linen using the fern folder, remove backing and adhere to card.
  • Stamp and die cut the flower elements and attach to card using dimensionals.
  • Make two banners using the punch, one narrow and one not so narrow.
  • Use the banners for the sentiments, double load the stamp with versamark and blushing bride before stamping and adding the embossing powder.
  • Add a polished dot to the centre of the flower, then a bow to the stems.
  • It sounds a lot, but once stamped and die cut it's easy to put together

Happiness abounds meets Artistic Mix Masks with Double Embossing

A quick and easy card to make, basic card base with the layer being 2cm smaller all round or for imperial ¼" all round.

Base card + layers

Materials required for this card are:

Card Stock: basic white, gorgeous grape
Embossing Folders: timeworn type, 
Ink: gorgeous grape, highland heather
Punches: *½" circle, lovely label, medium daisy
Stamp Sets: happiness abounds
Accessories: artistic mix decorative masks, basic rhinestones, blending brushes, *grosgrain ribbon

  1. On the first layer using the flower mask blend the darker colour then swap to the second mask and lightly blend using the lighter colour.
  2. Now dry emboss this layer using the timeworn type 3D folder.
  3. Punch out 2 medium daisies and adhere together. Add a *½" punched circle in the darker colour.
  4. wrap some ribbon around the layer towards the bottom and adhere to the base card, then adhere the daisy where you want it.
  5. Stamp the sentiment on a ½" strip of card stock and use the lovely label punch to enhance the sides.
  6. Adhere sentiment across the ribbon and add rhinestones.

This is a CASE from the lovely 'Mary Deatherage' with just a couple of small changes. I'm loving this new suite Sun Prints which i've teamed up with a stamp set that's no longer available, but I adore the sentiments, sorry

Many Hearts meets Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Well I really messed up with this one, to start with I made a 3rd anniversary card instead of a 2nd (hee hee I now have next years done!) 

The bakers twine is representing the cotton part of the card, and there are lots of layers and textures.

Welcoming Woods meets Winter Woods

I'm in a bit of a fog at the moment and have no imagination for creating man cards! So I'm looking on the internet where a little bit of  mixing and matching are coming into play. Many messages meets Very Versailles

This is the second of two cards made in this style, one landscape and one portrait. As the first one it's a mixture of old and new products.

For the sparkly edge I used heat & stick with versamark and dazzling diamonds (you've got to use it up, haven't you!)

 Blending brushes were used on the shimmery white using rococo rose and seaside spray before die cutting.

Color & Contours meets Art Gallery

A clean and simple look today, with 2 step stamping and little die cutting.
The one thing I did do was to cut down the base card to 13.8 (5 7/16) in height to create an even border all round.

Whiskey Business

This one's for the love of my life


He loves his whiskey (in moderation) especially Jack Daniels. In 2006 while on holiday in America we did the tour of the JD distillery.  It was the highlight of the holiday for hubby!!
