Catching Butterflies Card

Intermediate level - colouring using wink of stella &  ink, colour using alcohol blends, die cutting, layering, stamping
Inspiration came from looking at cards on Pinterest

Materials required for this card are:
 
Card Stock: basic white, *boho blue
Designer Series Paper: timeless plaid
Dies: perennial postage (1)
Ink: basic grey, calypso coral
Stampin' Blends: *boho blue, cajun craze, darling duck, ivory, petal pink
Stamps: *catching butterflies
Accessories: bakers twine essentials, wink of Jetta, watercolor pencils basic gray
when using layering dies (1) is the smallest

Start with a base card 14.5 x 29 scored at 14.5 & 16.5, white layer 13 x 9, dsp 4 x 10
  1. adhere the dsp to the base card using liquid glue
  2. add the bakers twine and tie a bow, then adhere this section down using liquid glue, so the card opens at the second scoreline
  3. die cut the white layer
  4. position the stamps and ink up with basic gray, then stamp (using second generation)
  5. put a very small amount of calypso coral onto an ink block, squeeze a small blob of wink of stella onto the block and mix together then paint the dress and let it dry (make sure to clean the brush throughly) 
  6. colour the rest of the girl
  7. very lightly colour the net using the basic gray watercolor pencil
  8. now use the blends to colour the butterflies
  9. attach this layer to the base card using dimensional pads

Celebrating You meets Stylish Sketches

Tried using the watercolour pencils again and it went a lot better. Kept it lighter than before with less blending.

Materials required for this card are:

Card Stock: basic white
Designer Series Paper: dandy designs
Dies: scalloped contours (4)
Embossing Folders: *subtle 3D
Ink: memento tuxedo black (stamped off)
Stamp Sets: celebrating you, stylish sketches
Watercolour Pencils: basic grey, crushed curry, early espresso, garden green. old olive, Pacific point, pumpkin pie
Accessories: blender pen, note cards & envelopes
 * = no longer available, when using layering dies (1) is the smallest
  1. Start with a note card & envelope
  2. dsp = 3½  x 5 inches, adhered using wet glue
  3. die cut the scalloped rectangle
  4. stamp the ducks and sentiment (stamp off first for the ducks)
  5. colour the ducks
  6. attach to the card using dimensional's

Happiness Abounds meets Stylish Sketches

This is a mixture of old and new. Stamping, watercoloring, dry embossing, die cutting and punching.

Materials required for this card are:

Card Stock: balmy blue, basic white thick
Designer Series Paper: *simply marbleous 
Dies: stylish shapes (6)
Embossing Folders: *seaside
Ink: balmy blue, memento black
Punches: decorative circle, lovely labels
Watercolor Pencils: basic black, daffodil delight, early espresso, garden green, pacific point, pumpkin pie
Stamp Sets: happiness abounds, *stylish sketches
Accessories: blender pen, *organdy combo ribbon

* = no longer available, when using layering dies (1)
  1. base card 14.8 x 10.5, dsp 10 x 14.3
  2. stamp and colour the ducks, punch out using the decorative circle 
  3. colour round the edge of the circle using a balmy blue stampin' marker
  4. stamp the sentiment on a ½" strip and flag the ends, then make a ¾" background strip and adhere together
  5. die cut a circle in the dsp, then die cut a balmy blue circle the same size
  6. emboss the dsp and add a strip of ribbon about 2.5cm from the bottom then attach to the base card using dimensionals
  7. adhere the blue circle using wet glue, then the ducks & sentiment using dimensionals

Pretty Perennials final days!!

 Thank you for joining me today!

Thought I'd get out my watercolor pencils for a change and this is what I came up with, one that's bright, fun and funky! Need to practice more with the watercoloring.


There won't be many more of these cards as Sue and her family are moving soon 😞

Dies: floral gallery, scalloped contours (3)
Embossing Powder: white
Ink: memento tuxedo black, versamark
Ribbon: *mint macaron sheer
Stamp Sets: pretty perennials
Watercolor Pencils: bermuda bay, crushed curry, fairy flamingo, granny apple green, real red

Accessories: note cards, playing with patterns resin dots, water painters
