Let it Ride and more

Welcome to my world

Hope wherever you are, you're having a great day!

Here it's overcast but very warm still, just how I like it (but my inks and things like glue don't).

I'm posting this blog a little early as her birthday isn't until October, but I want to send a link to a fabulous fellow demonstrator within her competition time frame.  I put a slightly different spin on it, as the recipient for the card is very mindful of the environment and so I tend to use scraps and recycled elements, when making her cards.

So less of the waffle, here's today's card, inside and out.

Again being mindful of the planet, the greeting label is placed using removable tape so it can swapped out and another one written and then the card can be passed on if she wishes.

You will find a video of how to make this kind of card over on

(dsp) = designer series paper, (ss) = stamp set

For this card I used soft suede for the card base, soft sea foam for the outside layer and the inside panel. Black for the scalloped square, whisper white for the greeting label (this was computer generated), pressed petals (dsp) for the top layer, the let it ride (ss), versamark ink and gold embossing powder for the horses head and the main sentiments inside. Soft suede for the trees and linen thread for the bow.

Will be back again soon with more cards

Well Said and lots more

Hello folks, hope you're having a good day

Happy Anniversary Margaret & Simon

Fancied using some of my old stash along with some of the newer stuff, not used for a while.
So got out a bit of this and that, and threw in a bit of the other, and this is what I came up with.

A couple of these items retired without me ever using them, so thought I better remedy that before hubby finds out!!

To recreate this card follow the guide below:
® = retired, (sab) = Sale-A-Bration, (H) = Hostess, (nsu) = not stampin’ up, (ss) = Stamp set, (DSP) = designer series paper, (CS) = Card Stock, When using Layering frames (1) is always the smallest.

All measurements are in inch's

Card Stock: Whisper White: 3 pieces 10" x 5" scored at 5" (card base), 2¾" x 2¾" (3rd layer), 2" x ½" (sentiment)
Blueberry Bushel: 3" x 3" (1st layer) , 2½" x 1¼" (happy)
Purple Posy: 2¼" x 2" (heart)
DSP: 2019-2021 In Colors Purple Posy 2¾" x 2¾" (2nd layer)
Embossing Folders: ® Country Floral® Pretty Print, Subtle
Dies: Layering Squares, Stitched Be Mine, Well Written
Stamp Sets: Well Said
Stampin' Pads: Blueberry Bushel
Accessories: Organza Ribbon®

Emboss the front of the base card with the country floral folder leaving a ¾" gap on the left side.

Add the organza ribbon along the left edge and add a bow (adhere using glue dots).

Die cut all three of the square's using the layering squares (7) , the heart from stitched be mine and the happy from well written.

Emboss the Whisper White square with the pretty print folder and the heart with the subtle folder.

Adhere the blueberry bushel square to the card base using dimensional pads.

Adhere the DSP square to the whisper white square using liquid glue and slightly off set.

Then adhere to the blueberry bushel square using dimensional pads, again slightly off set.

Adhere the happy to the heart using liquid glue, then adhere to the whisper white square using dimensional pads.

Stamp the sentiment Anniversary from the well said (ss) on the small piece of whisper white (cs) in blueberry bushel and then trim down to size and adhere to the card using dimensional pads.

Thanks for dropping by, will be back soon with more cards

Hand-Lettered Prose meets Designer Tee

Hello and welcome to my blog,

Well done Ashlie!

I hadn't really thought about my granddaughter doing here GCSE's this year until she texted me saying she'd passed what she needed to be able to do the course she wanted. So whoops, I need a card quickly as she's coming over today. So here it is.
I tried the 'oval brush' blending technique on this card and for a first attempt I think it looks quite good. The brushes are oval makeup brushes and work brilliantly for blending (see Dena Rekow's 'the creativity cave' blog for how to use them and get good results).

To recreate this card follow the guide below:
(cs) = card stock, Ⓡ = retired, (sab) = sale-a-bration, (ss) = stamp set

All measurements are in centimetres

Card Stock: Whisper White 2 pieces, 14.5 x 21 scored at 10.5 (card base), 14.5 x 10 (top layer)
Dies: Hand-Lettered Prose
Elements: Basic Rhinestones
Embossing Folders: Bricks & Mortar
Stampin' Blends: Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Purple Heather (all dark)
Stampin' Pads: Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather, So Saffron
Stamp Sets: Ⓡ Designer Tee (sab)

With the top layer, do your blending using the 3 stampin' pads.

Then lay out the first 3 letters of each word using the hand-lettered prose dies and die cut them, then  die cut the last letter of each word (maybe 2 sets would be better). Might need to get myself a new set as lots of our family names have the same letter twice within them.

Stamp the 'congratulation!' from the Ⓡ designer tee (ss) in highland heather.

Having removed the letters from the top layer, emboss it using the bricks & mortar folder and adhere to the card base using liquid glue.

Replace the letters back into their spaces, using small dimensional pads.

Colour three rhinestones using the 3 stampin' blends and adhere to the card.

Well I never, created, photographed and blogged all today and it's only 9.30!!

Will be back again soon with more cards

Die cut the Lighthouse, along with the Rope and Knot using the two smaller pieces of  Soft Suede (cs).
Adhere the larger piece of DSP to the bottom of the first layer (soft suede) leaving an equal space on all three sides using liquid glue
Rotate round and do the same with the smaller piece of DSP (overlapping the bottom piece slightly).
Adhere the Rope across the join between the two pieces of DSP and trim down. (I used narrow tear & tape).
Adhere this layer to the base card using liquid glue.
Go back to the stamped Whisper White Thick (cs) and add some Birds across the top. then stamp the Sand in Crumb Cake towards the bottom.
Again tear all the sides off to give it a distressed look.
Add some Clear Wink of Stella to the sand.
Adhere the Lighthouse and Rope to this layer using dimensional pads.
Now attach to the base card using dimensional pads.
Stamp the Sentiment on the Very Vanilla (cs) using Night of Navy.
Now tear all the sides off to give it a distressed look, then lightly sponge all over using Crumb Cake.
Slightly bend the sentiment and add a Candy Dot to the top left corner.

Lilypad Lake meets Perennial Birthday

Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog

Happy Birthday Rob & Jack

Perennial Birthday seems to be my go to stamp set for the word birthday at the moment. Especially for male cards, I just love the font and size.

These two cards are the same except for the Enjoy sentiment, I couldn't decide which one to use so did one of each. I'm veering towards the red on white, which do you prefer?
It's quite an easy card to make (I don't do hard cards) ha ha!!

To recreate this card follow the guide below:
® = retired, (sab) = Sale-A-Bration, (H) = Hostess, (nsu) = not stampin’ up, (ss) = Stamp set, (DSP) = designer series paper, (CS) = Card Stock, with layered dies number 1 is the always the smallest.

Adhere the DSP about 0.5 from the bottom of the same layer using liquid glue.
Add the ribbon at the top of the DSP (half on half off), and adhere using tear n tape.
On the square of Whisper White,  stamp the waves at the bottom, then the yachts (don't worry about the overlay) and lastly the sun towards the top (make sure it's not too high up).
On the smallest piece of Whisper White stamp the Enjoy sentiment in Poppy Parade.
On the last piece of Whisper White stamp the yachts again, in Night of Navy and colour in the sails using the blends.
Place all items to be die cut on your plate together. Silver Ships WheelCrushed Curry scalloped circle No:6, yacht scene Stitched Shapes circle No: 3, banner, separate group of yachts.
Adhere the yacht scene to the scalloped circle using liquid glue then attach to the base card using dimensional pads.
